An Evening with the Authors

Is this event for you?

We are in the midst of producing an amazing evening of engagement with authors from all genres to showcase their works, discuss their creative process, answer attendee questions, and more. We will begin the evening with an open session held in our event venue, Pendleton Hall, where you can visit each author’s booth, purchase their books and have them signed.

Our tentative date is May 19, 2023, which is the Friday after Mother’s Day (because we think this is an awesome Mom’s Day Gift!)

Please review our tentative agenda below, then complete a short survey to share if you are interested in attending this event or being included as an author. This event is designed to host both walk-in traffic for maximum exposure for our authors, while ending the evening with more engaging opportunities with VIP ticket holders for a more intimate closing.

VIP Tickets will continue to be sold throughout the evening, until 6:30pm.

Open Session 4pm-6pm: We welcome walk-in traffic to tour the booths and visit the authors. While there is not a ticket cost for this portion of the event, we are asking for donations to the Literacy Volunteers of the Eastern Panhandle.

Special Guest Speaker 6pm-6:30pm: One of our local experts will take the stage for a unique perspective on how to connect with your story and consider beginning the creative process to share it!

Open Session Closes 6:30pm: We will ask that non-ticket holders exit the venue or visit the registration booth to purchase a ticket. Ticket holders will visit the sign-in booth to get their special gift and check-in.

Fireside Chats and Inspiration Sessions 7pm-9pm: These activities will be determined and booked from the visiting Author roster. Not all authors are required to speak nor may have the opportunity present, due to limited time. Fireside Chats will be held in our Community Room and Club Room, while our venue will be open for attendees to graze and enjoy a beverage.

8:30-9pm: Closing Session for all in Pendleton Hall

Special Note: This is not a registration form, a commitment to attend or ticket purchase form. At this time, Blue Umbrella Marketing & Events is gathering author information and potential attendee feedback. Potential attendees who sign up will receive the ticket link for VIP tickets at an Early Bird discount when ticket sales begin.
